After graduating from Iowa State University with a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Kim Franta worked for hospitality partners before feeling a call to serve her community differently. Growing up in a home with teachers, education felt like a natural fit. She has since merged her passion for hospitality and food with K-12 education as the Nutrition Services Director for several Minnesota school districts. In her role at CESO, she looks forward to creating fresh, fun meals for the entire school community.
In her free time, she is a Girl Scout Troop Leader (her favorite cookies are Caramel deLites), cheers for all Minnesota sports teams (especially the Twins and Timberwolves), and enjoys time with her three children.
